I just went to change my neighborhood on Facebook (very important when you move to remember things like this), and realized they have descriptions of each area. They have this to say about Oak Park:

The earliest suburb of Sacramento, California, and former state headquarters of the Black Panther Party, Oak Park now holds the somewhat dubious distinction of being one of the city’s most affordable neighborhoods. It boasts plentiful churches, barbershops, and liquor stores, but there are relatively few opportunities for legitimate employment in the neighborhood itself. There have been a number of renovation projects initiated in the last few years, including the City’s investment in Stockton Boulevard, ongoing community restoration of the Colonial Theater, and several projects by mayoral hopeful Keven Johnson – such as the Guild Theater and 40 Acres Art Gallery on Broadway and 35th Street. During the recent property boom, the proportion of owner-occupied dwellings in Oak Park increased, at once diversifying the neighborhood’s ethnic identity and bringing new interest in community development. The recent downturn in housing prices has left an odd patchwork of tidy recently purchased homes, run-down rentals and shuttered foreclosures, but it is hoped that the continuing drop in prices will usher in a new wave of homeowners to revitalize the neighborhood.

That pretty much sums it up. I like how they point out that there are few opportunities for legitimate employment.  Illegitimate, maybe so.

Perhaps your Fiesta house could have been one of the meeting spots of the black panther party…this is pretty cool….as time goes on you might find secret hiding spots and messages throughout.
