Weekly Meal Roundup
So as of this coming week I officially have a job working for WIC. I think knowing that we’re going to have some additional source of income has made us go a bit wild this week with eating out. Uh, not a good idea. So in an attempt to be more accountable to what I’m eating I’m going to copy the now infamous Freedom Gardens and start posting a weekly meal roundup. Although they do it to show of all their fancy pants homegrown meals, and I’m doing it to come clean about the large amount of junk I actually eat 🙂
I didn’t really think to do this except in the last few days so this week is going to be a bit weak (in terms of what I remember, but also our rather pathetic eating habits), but I’m going to be better about it from here out.
Breakfast: Fruit, whole wheat bread, (and P ate bacon) all purchased by my mom from Whole Foods
Lunch: Snacked on more of the fruit & ???
Breakfast: Yogurt w/farmer’s market walnuts, flax seed, and raisins
Lunch: Chocolate chip cookies (seriously), apple with almond butter, toast with jam
Dinner: Spicy lentil soup with farmer’s market carrots and squash
Breakfast: Steel cut oats with raisins and brown sugar
Lunch: Leftover soup (served cold) on top of salad greens from farmer’s market
Dinner: $1 sushi (mostly veggie, with one piece of tuna)
Lunch: Leftover soup again.
Dinner: Frozen pizza from Trader Joe’s (the cheeseless kind) & green salad made from farmer’s market lettuce, carrots, and beets.
Breakfast: Oatmeal with raisins, brown sugar, & milk.
Lunch: More soup (it was a big thing of soup!)
Dinner: Pizza eaten out.
Breakfast: Scone from Old Soul then I ate some oatmeal later (scavenged off of a coworker who wasn’t going to eat it)
Lunch: Yogurt with flax seeds, raisins, & walnuts (from farmer’s market), dried apricots, a piece of toast with almond butter on it.
Dinner: Curry from curry powder with broccoli, greens, brussel sprouts, leeks, and carrots from farmer’s market. Eaten with local rice and lentils cooked together.
Breakfast: Old Soul bran muffin
Lunch: Fritatta with local organic eggs, broccoli, greens, and carrots (all from farmer’s market).
Dinner: Vegetarian gumbo from restaurant.
I told you we ate out a lot this week. Tisk tisk. I’ll be better this week, I swear!
