Hot toddy

April 3, 2010

What is up with the cold?  Our house is currently in the 40s.  Our very fickle heater has totally given up, so we have piled on the alternate heating methods:

-tea
-oven on warm, cracked open (sitting at the kitchen table to reap the benefits of this method).
-many layers of clothing (I’m currently wearing 3 shirts (two are long sleeved, one is a turtleneck, with a wool scarf, sweats with thick thigh high socks)
-hot toddy
-jumping up and down
-cuddling for warmth (paul doesn’t like this method when it gets really cold because I am freezing and suck all his warmth away from him).

Watching Simpsons

Outside, the cold is causing some problems too.  I excitedly purchased tomato plants the other day, which I’m pretty sure are now dead.  Oops.

We put in: bourbon, lemon juice, honey, and hot water.
