Hello Readers
While I am not a private person, and generally have no problem with the idea of sharing basic details of my life with y’all, it occasionally occurs to me that I’m getting between fifty and a hundred (or more) blog hits a day and hardly any comments on my posts. I post things here mostly to keep a record for myself, not to entertain others, so I don’t expect comments. But without them I really have no idea who is reading. and that’s just a tiny bit strange when I think about it too hard.
I know my parents read my blog, but there are only two of them. And P. reads it. And some friends comment occasionally. But who the are the rest of you?
I need to figure out how to dry these...line? dehydrator that I need to give back to my neighbor?

i went to high school with paul – hi paul! my last name was cenedella then, but it’s dell now.
i actually stumbled on your wedding website in the middle of planning our wedding in may 2009. it was a huge help and it allowed me to view our wedding and ceremony in a way that other weddng sites prevented. so… thank you! i felt a little embarassed to admit that i was reading your blogs, because it was so coincidential that you happen to be married to a guy i went to high school with. i read some of the wedding website blog posts, fell in love with it, and then suddenly in the next one, i saw my old high school friend and your fiance in a photo.
anyway, i have your blogs in my google reader now 🙂 say hi to him for me.
I read your blog to keep track of what’s happening south of Broadway in the realms of urban gardening, chicken-keeping and gunplay.
I too found this blog through your wedding blog. I was married last October and found your wedding to be very inspirational, so thank you for sharing! Now that I’m no longer planning a wedding, I find In Oak Park to be more relatable to what’s happening in my life right now. I too am a Sacramentan…we live in Tahoe Park.
Well, I’m fairly certain you know I read your blog. If you need a reminder – I’m your cousin, Maddie. You know… the one that was at your parents house practically every weekend of every summer growing up? 😉

I started reading this blog after I planned my wedding last year and found a lot of fun inspiration from your very own wedding blog!
I love your updates on chickens, gardening, community activities, and a fiesty dog! We do much of the same things over here in Chicago (Well, not chickens, though I want them badly!). We expanded our backyard garden into a front yard farm recently, and have been trouble shooting what it means to live a more sustainable life.

i found your wedding blog through another blog (though i cant remember the one right now) and then when that eneded i trotted over here. in my next life (the one where i dont faint at the sight of blood) i would like to be a midwife and the ocasional midwife update enough to satisify me. you have also inspired me to start a garden.

I love your blog because if it weren’t for this blog, almost everything I know about your life would be second-hand through Mom. The daughter → mom → father filter is a complex machinery that results in some interesting systematic distortions of information transfer, not the least of which is a 90% reduction in the signal-to-noise ratio.
I went to high school with Paul, too (I bet he can tell you my last name. It’s a lot like his was, before his name became even cooler.) We ran into each other (literally) once in Sacramento and he sent me this url shortly before you guys got married. I loved the wedding photos, and although you and I have never met, I like to pop in and see how things are going and look at your lovely pics and read about midwifery/nursing. I’m living abroad this year, and it’s also nice to get a taste from the States every now and again. I’m sorry for being a lurker — I’ve always been a bit too lazy for my own good. I’m from illinois, but I live in the Pacific Northwest (the olympic peninsula in Washington) and spent some time farming. Now, I’m working for Olympic National Park and attempting to live simply with my love. Oh, and I my “biological chicken clock” is ticking.

I have been following your reviews on Yelp for a couple of years, and on one of my really bored days, I clicked on your blog link. Have been a pretty faithful follower since then. At the time you were planning on getting chickens, which I was doing the same. Your pics are pretty fabulous and we seem to have a lot of hobbies/interests in common. I will try not to lurk so much anymore!
With my peppers, I am going to can most of them and then sun dry the rest to make Chili Flakes. (just cut in half, put them outside in a sunny spot with a fine mesh screen covering them and bring them inside during the night). They should be ready in several days with the hot Sacramento sun we have been having!

Hey Katie! I wanted to make a suggestion about the peppers (though I’m not sure if they are the right ones…). One of my old co-workers made this awesome spicy pepper jelly that he served at work with cream cheese and crackers. It was sooooo delicious. I think my mom makes a pepper relish that is sorta sweet too.
Like Elise, I too enjoy the fact that you post often and about all sorts of things. Instead of watching tv, I read cooking blogs, your blog and chicksonafarm. 🙂

Hi! I found your wedding blog a while back while back when I was helping my best friend put her backyard wedding together.
