Living room redux

October 25, 2010

Our poor living room has been through a lot since we bought our house.  When we first moved in we hardly ever used it, so it stayed cute, clean, and kind of unused looking for months. Then Hazel decided to Destroy all the furniture and I realized I wished we had a semi-functional living room.

Cute living room circa early 2009 with our favorite couch that Hazel ate (literally).

Also, she ate giant holes in the blinds and at some point we shoved a sheet in the front window so our neighbors couldn’t see in.  Also, the archway required moving some furniture around, which wasn’t such a huge deal since Hazel had consumed the couch that once went on that wall.

Sheet curtain can be seen in the back here.

While P has been driven insane by the (lack of) lights in our kitchen, the sheet curtain was just a bit too ghetto for my taste.  We all have our issues.  So during the Ikea light-buying trip, we also picked up new linen curtains (only $14.99/pack).  They’re the Lenda style, if anyone is interested.  It says they are more online, but it isn’t so.  They seem high quality for the price–heavy enough, but they do let light in.

They’re a little long, and eventually I’ll probably hem them, but for now I’m just happy they aren’t funky sheets.

So funny – We have those exact tv trays!
I love the blue of the curtains! It’s amazing how curtains can change a space. I recently put some up in our dining room, and love it!

I’m surprised that Hazel’s okay with curtains.

Well it helps that she’s grown out of her super destructive phase. I did move her dog bed out from under them though (it’s in the kitchen now).
